Churches and Places of Worship

A rich heritage of sacred art kept in the village of Arquà Petrarca.

Arquà Petrarca guards a patrimony of faith and art, with churches and small places of worship that tell the religious history of the village and the territory. The sacred buildings, in addition to being testimonies of devotion, preserve precious paintings and decorations of great value, which enrich their historical and artistic value.

The Church of Santa Maria Assunta, an ancient parish church dating back to the Middle Ages, dominates the village with its sober elegance and preserves inside frescoes and works of art that recall Arquà's most illustrious past. Not far away, the Oratory of the Holy Trinity, also of ancient origins, is a small jewel full of charm, with frescoes that evoke the spirituality of the time.

But the places of worship are not limited to churches: along the paths just outside the village, among woods and vineyards, one encounters antique votive capitals, evidence of a deeply rooted popular religiosity, which fit perfectly into the Euganean landscape, inviting pause and reflection.
